It was an ordinary evening

You were walking home with your eyes on your phone when the pavement gave way under you like wet cardboard.

You come to face-down on a carpet that smells of mildew. Above you a fluorescent light is humming. The wallpaper is the yellow of old newspapers. You get up and open a door, and the room behind it is this room again. So is the next one.

You aren't the first

Someone came through here before you. They left supply tables, notes written in a hurry, and a direction to go. Follow what they left behind, and find out how far they got.

Don't fight. Hide.

Most of what lives down here isn't in a hurry to kill you. It would just like you to stay.

There is a face in the dark that keeps smiling at you. There are things between the shelves that walk almost like people. You can't fight any of it, and you don't need to. Find somewhere to hide, keep your flashlight where it counts, and walk quietly. Then more quietly.

No map

All you have is an old M.E.G. field unit that points you roughly the right way and you need to follow to device to solve the puzzles. When it says you're close, the rest is up to your eyes.

Drink the almond water when you find it. And don't stare too long at things that shouldn't be there. It costs more than you think.

Never the same way twice

The first floor rearranges itself for every new save. Four difficulties, from Novice to Nightmare, and on Nightmare one death ends the run.
